What is included in the phone plan?
The Phone Away from Home plan includes:
- Unlimited calling and texting within Israel
- Unlimited calling to the US and Canada
- 6 GB of browsing Data
- Unlimited incoming calls and text messages
Do I need to rent a phone to get the plan?
Nope!
You can choose to rent a phone, or just get a SIM card rental!
How much do rentals cost?
SIM card rentals cost $50 USD.
Phone rentals cost $109.99 USD.
Can I use my own phone if it’s a locked phone?
Unfortunately, no.
Locked phones are restricted by your service provider, to keep you from using another company.
If your provider is unwilling to unlock your phone, then you’ll need to rent one.
How do I know if my phone is unlocked?
Call your service provider and ask them. If the phone is locked, they can provide instructions on how to unlock it.
What kind of phones do you have available?
If you’re looking for a smart phone, we’ve got two models:
- The iPhone 4 or Galaxy J Mini for $109.99 USD
- The iPhone 5 for $129.99 USD
You can also get a basic Nokia phone for $89.99 USD, if you’re not interested in using a smart phone.
I’m worried the rental might break or get stolen. Do you offer insurance?
Yup! You can insure your rental for an additional $11 USD.
This will cover all damages to the phone, with a $25 USD deductible.
And if the phone is lost or stolen, insurance covers 50% of the replacement cost!
What else do you offer?
You can get an American call forwarding line for just $14.99 USD. This will let your friends and family call you without having to dial an overseas number!

When will I receive my phone or SIM rental?
Phone Away from Home provides groups with airport delivery. We can also deliver your rental to your home address prior to your flight.
How do I return the equipment?
SIM cards do not need to be returned. Feel free to keep them and reactivate them on future trips to Israel. For phone rentals, a postage paid envelope will be provided with your order. Equipment must be returned via mail within Israel, before your departure.
Is there a cancellation fee?
Yes, there is a $15 USD cancellation fee on all orders.
When I get my bill, am I going to find hidden charges and extra fees?
Nope!
Phone Away from Home prides itself on being completely upfront about fees. You won’t be getting any unpleasant surprises at billing time.
Can I keep my American number?
Sorry, that’s not an option.
But we’ll assign you one of our phone lines without any issue, and you’ll get your number in advance, so you can share it with your family and friends!
